Bible Study for February

Sunday morning Bible study on the politics of Jesus in the gospel of Matthew continues as we spend several weeks reading, listening to, thinking about, and praying with the Sermon on the Mount (chapters 5-7).  Many Christians through the centuries have decided that Jesus’ teaching in this text expects far too much of us ordinary mortals.  Others have discerned, Glen H. Stassen among them, that this beautiful text represents “a practical hope for grace and deliverance.”  “Practical hope” will be the lens through which we will seek to view Jesus’ teaching in the Sermon on the Mount.

Bridge Club

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

The Cleveland Park Bridge Group plays from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm every Monday evening throughout the year.

If you like to play bridge or want to learn, please join us.  You do not need to bring a partner to join our group. If we have uneven number of players, we take turns. Every second hand, one person sits out.

We can teach you the fundamentals and we can suggest further study opportunities, should you wish.  Plus, we’re a very sociable group!

Please contact Barbara Goff for more information.
