Sunday School
Sunday School for children ages 6-11 (or in grades 1-6) begins at 9:30 AM.
We will begin the fall by studying the Bible stories about Abraham and Sarah. We use a workshop rotation model, where kids engage a variety of senses and learning styles in exploring the stories of our faith.
Our Pre-K and kindergarten children attend the first part of the worship service and leave after the children’s sermon for Sunday School, which features age-appropriate Bible stories and related activities (
Confirmation
Cleveland Park Congregational Church has a faith formation program for young people (grades 7 and up) wishing to learn more about joining the church. New members are welcome to join the class at any time.
We will be kicking off the year with a Confirmation Retreat on Saturday, September 22nd. Regular meetings of this group of younger youth include learning, service, fellowship and fun!
High School Youth
We have many opportunities for high school youth (post-confirmation), from community service through monthly Faith in Action activities, getting to know one another at informal pizza lunches, deepening faith through prayer and study, and learning trips to places where people of other faiths worship. Our first event will be a Faith in Action project the weekend of October 7th, working with the Dinner Program for Homeless Women downtown. Please contact Pastor Laura Jean with any questions or
Feeding the Multitudes
The Boy's Lunch
In January and February of this year, our Sunday School studied the story of the miracle of the loaves and fishes, where Jesus feeds a crowd of 5,000 with 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread, provided by a boy from the crowd.
In their cooking workshop, our kids attempted to feed the multitudes as well (i.e., our congregation at coffee hour), by baking mini muffins that were served after church. They also made some artwork illustrating the story, that they displayed along with the muffins.
